Overview

So much of Liverpool's wealth of industrial buildings has been destroyed during the past 30 years, mostly in connection with the redevelopment of the former dockland area. This historical look at Liverpool provides nostalgia through presenting long-forgotten images of the city and its transport and industrial heritage accompanied by easy to read, informative captions. Areas to be covered include The docks The dock road The warehouses The landing stages The much-loved Overhead Railway, Canals, Railway stations Street furniture, Redeveloped or demolished streets, Squares and buildings. This title gives a comprehensive and historic account of Liverpool's locations and buildings as well as many transport links and Railways, appealing to a wide market. It conveys the transformation of the city perfectly by presenting various then and now type comparisons combined with descriptive text and fascinating photography.
