Karen White Porter is a Director of Loga Springs Academy and a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. After graduating from Rutgers University with a Masters Degree in language education, she started teaching children. She has taught at East China Normal University in Shangha, P.R. China, Hofstra University in Hempstead N.Y., Hillside Public Schools in New Jersey, University of Saint Andrews in Saint Andrews Scotland, Belcher Elementary in Clearwater, Florida, The University of South Florida, The State University of Florida, and Loga Springs Academy. She started her own school, Loga Springs Academy, in Gainesville, Florida and became inspired by her students who were self-publishing with Amazon. After working for over 25 years grading students papers, she began a new chapter of her life. She co-authored several books with her daughter about feelings, in her 'Emotatude' series. Her most recent and popular works are How to be Heebie Jeebie Free; What to Do When you Get the Bejeebers Scared Out of You; The Secret of Warm Fuzzies; Picking Up the Pieces of a Kanipshun Fit; and Turtle One and Turtle Two. She also has developed several other children's' book series. Kim Mital Ledford is the office manager at Ledford Automotive where she works with her husband Danny. She is the owner of Kim's Embroidery business and has many followers on Pinterest for her creative ideas. She has been awarded the Voices for Victims Award. This organization has the mission to engage and empower victims and citizens in the effort to reduce violent crime. Kim enjoys camping, sewing, crafts, and traveling with her husband. When the weather is just right she and Danny love to ride with the top down on their convertible and enjoy the fresh mountain air and sunshine. She has several Yorkshire terriers and is a member of Waterville Baptist Church. She and her husband Danny still celebrate their love for one another every day. They spoil their granddaughter Serenity and are delighting in seeing her grow up. They continue to be dedicated to teaching young people the dangers of drinking and driving. As we are making the final edits of this book Kim and Danny are being recognized for their works. The Dustin Ledford Scholarship Foundation was awarded the East Tennessee Power of Community Award by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Tennessee during a recent celebration of MADD Tennessee's 35th anniversary in Nashville in January of 2016.
