Live Each Season as It Passes

Overview

Since the time of Eden, God has called humanity to be in relationship with nature. We are not called to live on earth but to live with earth. The distinction provokes us to reconsider the daily ways in which we live separately from earth, as if we are distinct from nature's life and its seasons. Live Each Season as It Passes is Daniel Cooperrider's call to the importance of earth-bound spiritual practices and daily awareness.

Reviews

""Live Each Season as it Passes will be a delight to those who have met God in the wild, those who are longing for an introduction, and even those who are perfectly happy with indoor sacrality. But let these last beware; they may well find themselves following the call of the wild geese out to a new relationship with God and with the world."" -- Quinn G. Caldwell, Chaplain of the Protestant Cooperative Ministry at Cornell University ""Daniel Cooperrider is a Thoreau for our time--only with a deeper theology. I can imagine no better guide to reintroduce us to the wonder-filled natural world."" -- Martin B. Copenhaver, Retired President of Andover Newton Theological School ""These essays [awaken] us to God's ravishing presence in every musty mushroom and moody cloud, in every season."" -- Debra Rienstra, Author of Refugia Faith: Seeking Hidden Shelters, Ordinary Wonders, and the Healing of the Earth ""With lyrical intelligence and ecological tenderness, Daniel Cooperrider listens his way into rivers, migrations, wind, and weather, offering a way of paying attention that feels urgently necessary now."" -- Victoria Loorz, Author of Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred
