Overview
Little Tommy Tomato is a bright green tomato who can't wait to turn red! Every night, he stares at the stars and dreams of shining like a ruby-red jewel. But no matter how hard he wishes, his belly stays green-just like his baby sister, Nelly! Tommy's mom tells him to be patient: ""Time makes fruit sweet inside!"" But Tommy doesn't listen. Instead, he asks his friend Carmello (a slightly older, orange-tinted tomato) for help. Carmello gives him a ""magic lotion"" that promises to turn him red overnight. Tommy eagerly rubs it on... but the next morning? Uh-oh! Blisters and dull green spots-not the shiny red he wanted! With his mom's care, Tommy learns a big lesson: Rushing never works!
