Karen Lee Stevens writes stories that are full of heart and adventure. When she's not busy dreaming up new tales for characters such as Little Ruby, you'll find her teaching mindfulness to school children, serving as Director of Wellness Programs for Therapy Dogs of America, and exploring nature in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California. Karen understands what it's like to be a sensitive soul, a quality she shares with Little Ruby, and she hopes her book empowers young readers to truly believe in themselves. Jack Wiens has illustrated dozens of children's books and is the author and illustrator of What Bear Said and Tending Our Grief. Jack's favorite activities include hand-feeding bluejays in his yard, hiking local trails, tennis, biking, exploring the Oregon coast and whale watching.
