Little Boo

Overview

Little Boo is the best! Until Little Boo is the worst...Why couldn't Big Boo have a little witch or even a little vampire for a younger sibling? A picture book featuring a pesky little sibling paired with gentle social emotional learning--perfect for Halloween or any time of year when a new baby arrives and brings change. When the antics of their little sibling start to get to Big Boo, they decide to trade for a friend's younger sibling, Little Howl. At first this seems like a great idea, but soon enough Big Boo finds that the grass isn't always greener and Little Howl is a whole new level of monster. This sweet and humorous story about sibling relationships acknowledges the frustrations but, ultimately, the love that comes with a new addition to the family.

Reviews

""A delightfully silly story with a sweet heart."" - Booklist - Booklist ""With spot-on hilarity and plenty of heart, Frost expertly captures the joys and aggravations of adjusting to older siblinghood. Little Boo is sure to be a popular read-aloud in growing families; it's a funny, delectable spooky-season treat."" - BookPage ? ""A spectral narrator chronicles the ups and downs of older siblinghood in this relatable tale spotlighting family dynamics. As a ""sweet and adorable baby,"" Little Boo proves an ideal bestie to the older sib, as captured in simply drawn comics depicting the young ghoul being pulled in a spider-like wagon. [B]ut when Little Boo learns to crawl, float, and generally ""do the most annoying things ever [t]he beanie-wearing, bespectacled older apparition works out a trade with a similarly beleaguered werewolf pal. Comedically, the swap turns to trouble...leading to the subject's sweetly renewed appreciation for Little Boo."" - Publishers Weekly (starred review) ""A charming and humorous take on sibling relationships with a spooky twist...Frost's playful digital illustrations bring warmth and humor to the holiday-inspired story, making it a compelling read for young audiences. With themes of sibling rivalry, acceptance, and unconditional love, this book will resonate with families navigating similar dynamics. Fans of Natasha Wing's The Night Before the New Baby and Lucy Ruth Cummins's Vampenguin will enjoy this lighthearted and visually appealing tale. An exhilarating seasonal pick that will appeal to little ghouls and their occasionally frustrated older siblings."" - School Library Journal
