OverviewListen and Draw is an EFL/ESL teacher's resource book of simple, ready-to-use classroom drawing activities that can be used to: provide a quick filler supplement and enrich a lesson add variety and provide a change of pace These activities, in which the students make simple drawings according to verbal instructions, develop the important skill of listening comprehension. Also, many of the activities can be used for pairwork, in which case the students will be practicing speaking. These drawing activities had their beginning in 1978 as part of a Total Physical Response (TPR)* approach to teaching English as a foreign language to university students in Brazil. In 1985 they were incorporated into my book Listen and Perform, and in 2000 into Listen and Act, a book used to teach English in the Amazonas state middle schools.
