OverviewThis work reviews the use of liposomes in immunoprophylaxis, immunological adjuvants and vaccine development. It describes the use of liposome-entrapped antibiotics for treating viral and bacterial infection and reviews the current status in the development of blood substitutes using liposome-encapsulated haemoglobin. The generation and analysis of liposome aerosols for pulmonary delivery is explored and the concept of bifunctional liposomes for immunomodulation described. The development of animal models for liposome-based anti-oxidant therapy is covered and an industrial perspective of liposomal drug formulation strategy is provided. This study also addresses the health and safety implications of the repeated use of liposomes. Full Product DetailsAuthor: P. N.
