Lionheart FC

Overview

Imagine feeling so disappointed in the team you support that you thought each player wasn't worthy to wear the hallowed shirt. That you believed the head coach is ignorant, and that all the luck of the world has forsaken your beloved Club. What would you have done? Would you consider switching your allegiance to another team, or perhaps give up on soccer entirely? Both options were unthinkable to Zack. So, he set out to do what any smart and brave young boy would- create his own team. And not just any team, but a group made up of the best players anyone could ever find, and from a very unlikely place...Join him on an adventure that only the beautiful game can provide! This bestselling classic fable, masterfully written by Čedo Vukovic, was a part of every school library in the former Yugoslavia. Now you have a chance to enjoy its first English edition, with adapted content and entirely new contemporary color artwork.

Author Information

A Montenegrin novelist, essayist, dramatist, editor, narrator, and also a WWII veteran, Mr. Vukovic has produced an illustrious body of work spanning genres and generations. Yet in each creation, there is a common thread - color of character and ease of language. Whether it is a bitter war story of survival-""Deep Dead"" -or a fable-like adventure-""Lionheart FC"" -his style engages readers with the same intensity. Numerous domestic and international awards and medals Mr. Vukovic has been awarded stand as testament to the quality of his opus. Ms. Moodie is a marketing creative and a student-athlete at Cal State Fullerton (Class of 2026) who combines discipline from Division I football with a passion for sustainable fashion and storytelling. She is currently a senior, playing as a left-footed midfielder on the Titan women's football team, but she can play anywhere on the left side of the field. While balancing her life as a student-athlete with work in Marketing and as an illustrator, Talei also found time to compete in a major football tournament. She played every minute for the Fiji U20 Women's National Team at the 2024 World Cup in Colombia. Mr. Micovic loves every aspect of football, but his favorite is working with players individually. Just like Zack, he was that kid who knew every possible detail about any game or player he was able to watch or read about. Now, as a grown-up, he collects coaching licenses and scouting diplomas. In his spare time, when he is not traveling across the world to attend games, Coach Plamen is an IT Engineer at a big US corporation.
