Overview
The easiest way to explore Linnansaari National Park is by kayak. The park includes no fewer than 130 islands and hundreds of islets. There are plenty of campfire sites, tent sites and toilets on the islands. Please note that on many islands, only Saimaa terns are allowed to land, and dozens of them swim here. Keep a sufficient distance from them. The largest island, Linnansaari, can also be reached by water bus in the summer. On the farm of the island, cask farming is practiced with talco power, as in the old days. Kaskaja is characterized by extensive deciduous forests, where the white-backed woodpecker and the regional bird, the bream, nest. The park's many hiking trails go around Linnasaari. Linnavuori, which was used as a guard post a thousand years ago, has wonderful views in almost every direction. In winter, tens of kilometers of skating rinks are plowed onto the ice. Our map is printed on excellent Tyvek material, which is water-resistant and tear-resistant. Thanks to the clever layout, the most important attractions of the region can be seen on the same map.
