It is quite a calming and soothing experience scrolling through the pages of Lines of Wisdom by Dr. Farzana Asim. These simple yet not-so-simple drawings give you a perspective into a different world, inside the mind of a true artist. She sees the same objects that we do, but she manages to distill each object into its purest form and ideas in a single continuous line.Not only that, but there is also a thought behind each painting, some of them quite simple and some very complex. For example, ""Love Is Meant to Nurture, not Enslave"" shows love in the form of wedding rings, but at the same time, they give the illusion of handcuffs. The reader can't help but stare at the mastery of Farzana and admire her skill and her creativity. ""Dance Your Dance"" is another example of reducing extremely complex imagery into a single line and yet showing everything that she wants you to see. After Pablo Picasso pioneered this form of art, not many have dared stepping in, most likely because it is deceptively difficult. But Farzana has taken a leap of faith and started a journey to an unchartered territory where she is sure to make a mark that will be remembered for a long time.
