Overview

This is a collection of short tunes to encourage creativity, collaboration and improvisation in young beginners, aiming to grow a love of music-making while developing musicianship. As in the Lightning Piano method books, the material can be adapted or supplemented to suit your teaching style. Pupils can: Perform the pieces from memory Experiment with Chipmunk's Challenges Create variations on the tune Improvise over the left hand Share Noodling Duets one plays as written while the other makes up a descant (or Noodles ) an octave higher. Also a fun way to improve sight reading. The music is designed to be read by shape and interval from the starting note of each line but Zac the Zebra's Puzzle Pages help students to learn individual notes. Students are also encouraged look for repeated notes and other intervals and to identify repeated phrases and sequences.
