Overview

This story is dedicated to the men, women, and children who defended the caves in the Dead Sea region during the occupation by Roman forces, not long after the crucifixion of the King of the Jews. The defenders undertook the task of preserving the Dead Sea Scrolls hidden in the Qumran caves. Triumphs and defeats alike were overshadowed by the Roman Empire's tactics of manufacturing history to secure its reign as a legacy of virtue. In centuries to come, other scribes would labor over fragments of a lost gospel that chronicled the Son of Nazareth's connection to a wife and progeny.
