Light Metals 2007: Materials Recycling Industry

Overview

These papers are based on presentations prepared for the Electrode Technology Symposium. The original symposium description is as follows: The Electrode Technology Symposium, along with Aluminum Reduction Technology, Alumina and Bauxite, Cast Shop Technology, Recycling Technology, and Reactive Metals, collectively form the Light Metals Symposium, where experts from the Light Metals Industry and academia from all over the world meet each other and share information. The original symposium description is also as follows: This symposium was previously named Carbon Technology but introduction of new electrode materials and fabrication technologies has made it necessary to rename it. You are invited to submit papers in the following subject areas: Carbon Anode Raw Materials and Properties; Paste Plant Design and Operation; Baking Furnace Design and Operation; Rodding Room Design and Operation; Anode Quality and Performance; Carbon Plant Environmental Issues and Safety; Cathode and Cathode Materials; Cell Preheating; Spent Potlining; Inert Electrode Fabrication and Materials Science.A joint session is also planned with Reduction Technology to discuss fabrication of and cell operation with slotted anodes, and original contributions for this session are also solicited. The joint session will include a round-table discussion of experiences with slotted anodes.
