The original symposium description is as follows: The Cast Shop Technology Symposium, along with Electrode Technology, Aluminum Reduction Technology, Alumina and Bauxite, Recycling Technology, and Reactive Metals, collectively form the Light Metals Symposium, where experts from the Light Metals Industry and academia from all over the world meet each other and share information. You are invited to submit papers in the following subject areas: Charge Materials; Melting; Filtration; Pre-Furnace Treatment; Casting Processes; Fluxing; Environmental Issues; Shape Casting; Grain Refinement; Modeling and Control; Automation; Cast Structures; Safety.Please also refer to the separate Call for Papers describing a special session on Cast House Operations. In this session the more day to day technology issues in the cast house will be addressed. In particularly cast house managers and cast house technologists are invited to send in a contribution. A selected amount of contributions will be invited for presentation. A formal technical paper is not required for this special Cast house Operations session but the presentation will be published and reviewed.
