OverviewTo draw light seems paradoxical at first because if a canvas is white, it gets darker with every stroke of the pen. We have to realise that light in a picture is much more than just brightness: it is brought about by the shadows the change of light and dark. It is the shadows who create space and atmosphere. Lighting determines what is seen, what is hidden and what can be sensed. The authors have gathered the basics for the depiction of light annotated and illustrated with helpful guide lines for the intuitive experience. For beginners and professionals alike, this books offers a refreshingly simple way of looking at the graphic creation of light and dark.
