OverviewThis book contains both a personal spiritual development story and an intriguing look at selected passages in the New Testament. It considers how religion and spirituality affect a person's life. Imagine Living in a world without light and warmth. Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. He was punished by Zeus but was a hero to humanity. The light and warmth of fire helped humanity grow and thrive. It freed us from reliance on the Gods. Zeus punished Prometheus by chaining him to a rock. An eagle (the symbol of Zeus) would devour his liver each day. It would grow back each night. This set in motion a cycle of eternal suffering. It took the hero Hercules to break the chains of Prometheus and set him free. We are told in the New Testament, the Jewish followers of Jesus took him down from the cross and buried him in the tomb. This gave him the opportunity to rise from the dead, ascend to Heaven and end his suffering. Unfortunately, the later Christians put the tortured, mutilated, and broken body of Jesus back on the cross, so he could suffer throughout eternity. His eternal suffering would be used to remind humanity of its guilt. Humanity has killed God! The Hero Hercules freed Prometheus. Who will be the hero, and free Jesus from eternal suffering, and humanity from eternal guilt? There are only two possibilities.
