Overview

The death of Daniel's wife Maria opens wounds from the past that never really healed, sending Daniel on a downward spiral, severe enough that his son Adam is afraid he may have to plan another funeral. To escape his grief, Daniel takes an extended vacation to a place that was magical in his youth. But, he must face his grief and is empowered by the past as well as in the struggles of his temporary community. Only when Daniel is willing to face his past can he be the hero of Hill Street, but as with all heroic action there is a price. Will he survive? Entwined in Daniel's struggle is Shane, who saw his mom murdered and has to hide to keep from becoming the next victim. It is only when he and Daniel's paths cross that both find a future.
