Author Information

Engineer turned pottery teacher. After more than thirty years in the electronics industry, mainly computer manufacture, I retired early and literally went to pot. I had always been a two dimensional artist enjoying sketching and painting landscapes, figures and portraits. However my wife took up pottery lessons and I followed suit and decided that I also enjoyed three dimensional art just as much as the two dimensional. I have taught pottery in schools to infants and juniors also to pupils with special educational needs in a college in Lancashire. I enjoy the design and documentation work involved in generating the projects, this is probably a spin off from my engineering background and the data I have accumulated over the years is the source of the project books that I am producing. The projects are the outcome of more than thirty years working with clay and with people and I hope that the skills and knowledge passed on through these books will enthuse and encourage more people to become workers in the most basic of materials. That is clay. Enjoy your clay modelling. Brian.
