She has worked variously as a teacher of English as a foreign language, a copywriter, an editor and a freelance Thai to English translator. Dorien Brouwers (Illustrator) Dorien Brouwers grew up in the Netherlands and moved to the UK where she obtained a first-degree BA Hons in Graphic Design. Her work has been shortlisted for the illustrators' exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair and also won an award at the World Illustration Awards.
