El papa Francisco (Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Buenos Aires, 1936) recibió la orden sacerdotal en 1969 y profesó sus votos definitivos en la Compañía de Jesús en 1973. Tras una larga trayectoria en distintos rangos de la jerarquía católica, fue nombrado Papa el 13 de marzo de 2013. JORGE MARIO BERGOGLIO, born in Buenos Aires the 17th of December 1936, since the 13th of March 2013  he is  the Bishop  of Rome and the 266th Pope of the Catholic  Church. On the 13th of March 2015 he decided to give a decisive turn to his papacy by announcing the Holy Year of Mercy. On that occasion he published the international bestseller The name of God is mercy. A conversation with Andrea  Tornielli (2016). On the 6th of October 2016 he announced the XV Ordinary General Assembly  of the Synod  of Bishops  on  the theme Youth, faith and vocational discernment, that will take place  in the Vatican  from  the  3rd  to the 28th October 2018, thus placing the theme of youth at the core of his reflection and of his teachings.
