This volume covers current problems in the research and treatment of leukaemias. The characterization of leukaemic cells and the evaluation of their function are important themes with the first hints emerging of the possibility of relating them to the intensity of treatment required. The cytokines, responsible for the co-operation between cells, are also of great importance. The beginning of therapeutic applications are furthermore demonstrated.
