Reviews

An introduction to the scientific method for the youngest learners. Across six different topics, readers are encouraged to observe the world around them. Covering everything from animal behavior at the zoo to the movement of the constellations, early readers are introduced to the elements of scientific thinking. Scenarios featuring characters in a classroom setting with a teacher are familiar and approachable. Characters ask age-appropriate questions about topics, leading to discussion points for readers. Each title in the series includes three or four chapters, a page of review questions, a brief glossary, a list of further reading resources, and a brief index. Illustrations are colorful and accessible. As an introduction to scientific thinking, this series has a place in an early learning classroom. However, this series is not designed to be a research resource and won't see as much use in a public library. VERDICT Useful for classrooms focused on scientific learning for the youngest students.--School Library Journal -- Journal (3/11/2022 12:00:00 AM)
