Author Information

When I was six I asked the priest why we were supposed to pray to Mary. He told me, That is what we do. I have never liked pacifying answers. I never went back. I got into a fight when I was seven years old because another boy said that my mom was a liar for telling me that there was a Santa Clause and an Easter Bunny. I lost that fight in two ways that day. When I got home my mom told me The Truth. I went to machine shop class while in high school and I learned to work with very close tolerances, with-in, plus or minus of a thousandth of an inch. While I was in the Navy I was on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Nimitz for a couple of years. The USS Nimitz had approximately 6,000 men on board when at sea. I was continually in conflict with my superiors. In the end, Captain Ilg and I had a private conversation in his office. He told me that of all the men on his ship, he knew that I alone would be willing to tell him The Truth, even if it was not what he wanted to hear. He said he recognized that characteristic in me the very first time that he met me. He told me that I would probably always feel like I was fighting an uphill battle with everyone else because everyone else had been taught not to question things that they had been told. He said it was those same men who were being led as sheep to the slaughter. If Captain Ilg had not explained all of this to me about myself, I probably would never have understood that I do not perceive most things the same way that most others do. I eventually worked in construction, where I learned that everything has to be 'absolutely plumb, square and level'. With that background and mental frame of mind I always had a problem with all of these different religious assemblies teaching that, You can come just as you are and you do not have to change. When I married my wife, she told me that she thought that we should start going to a church. I said it was fine with me, but, if we were going to do that, we were not going to go just to socialize. I told her that if we found that the church was not preaching and teaching what the scriptures were saying we would not continue going. I told her that we would follow The Truth where ever it led us. I knew in my soul that I was not hearing The Truth from the preachers. So I started reading the Scriptures for myself, and I began to see anomalies that have led me to some of the conclusions which I will present to you in this book. Boyd McNiel
