Overview

Unlock the Blueprint to Transform Your Life-from the Ground Up. ""Street-smart wisdom meets soulful deep healing."" Are you tired of figuring out life the hard way? Overwhelmed by bills, broken dreams, or confusing expectations? Are you seeking clarity in your finances, confidence in your identity, or peace in your relationships? This book is your manual. In this transformative self-help guide, Ja-van H. Young-a first-generation American, father, certified mechanic, real estate agent, artist, and survivor-delivers a raw, relatable, and radically honest roadmap to self-mastery. Written from the trenches of poverty, pain, hustle, and healing, this is not your typical self-help book filled with recycled theory. This is the one you wish someone had handed you at 16. Whether you're rebuilding after loss, breaking generational cycles, chasing financial freedom, healing inner wounds, or simply trying to figure out your next move, this book will meet you where you are-and walk with you where you're going. Inside, You'll Learn: ✅ How to unlock the 6 Stages of Transformation: Awareness, Intention, Decision, Discipline, Recognition, and Celebration ✅ How to break toxic patterns and parent with emotional intelligence ✅ How to build credit, understand taxes, protect your wealth, and leave a legacy ✅ The truth about life insurance, estate planning, and what happens when you die unprepared ✅ How to start a business, build a brand, and grow your income from scratch ✅ The power of healing your mindset, habits, and self-worth through reflection and action Perfect for: ✔️ Readers of The 48 Laws of Power, Atomic Habits, The Four Agreements, and Rich Dad Poor Dad ✔️ First-generation Americans, underdogs, single parents, entrepreneurs, teens, and lifelong learners ✔️ Are you ready to rewrite the script they were handed and become the author of your own life Why This Book Is Different: Ja-van doesn't just give advice-he gives you the game. He's lived it all: couch-surfing, jail cots, late bills, broken homes, failed jobs, and starting over more than once. But he also built something better-from real estate and business ownership to fatherhood and healing. Every chapter is grounded in experience, laced with humor and grit, and rooted in deep love for people navigating life with fewer resources and more responsibility than they should carry. This is the self-help book for people who never felt seen by self-help books. No fluff. No pretense. No gimmicks. Just the real tools, stories, and steps that will help you get clear, get focused, and get free. Highlight it. Dog-ear it. Share it. Revisit it every five years. This isn't a book you just read-this is the book you live by. If you're tired of being in the dark about how to manage your life... If you've been asking yourself, ""Why didn't anyone teach me this?""... If you're ready to level up mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually... This book is for you. Live by it always. Then pass it down-because someone else is going to need it just like you did.

Author Information

My name is Javan Young-but my friends call me Vohn.I'm a father, artist, product designer, certified mechanic, and a proud first-generation American. I was born and raised in the North End of Bridgeport, Connecticut-a city once known for manufacturing weapons in both World Wars and later ranked among the most dangerous cities in America. I grew up surrounded by crumbling buildings, abandoned lots, and invisible opportunity. My mother immigrated from East Kingston, Jamaica, in 1982. It took her nearly 40 years to gain U.S. citizenship. What stood in her way-and still blocks so many others-was a lack of access to three essential things: trustworthy information, the ability to navigate systems and people, and real financial literacy. Those gaps are what inspired this book.At 34, I've still never seen a single resource that lays out the truth about how to survive-let alone thrive-in this system, especially for people like us who come from poverty, who are underrepresented, under-resourced, and under-protected. That's not by accident. We were taught to work hard, not work smart. We learned how to survive, not how to build wealth or protect our peace. Meanwhile, structural racism, junk fees, toxic food, and generational trauma still flood our communities. But what if we didn't have to accept that anymore? What if we learned the truth early-about credit, taxes, contracts, emotional intelligence, and legal protection? What if we passed that knowledge down and rewrote the script they handed us?This book is for the hustlers who are tired of hustling. For the parents who want to raise emotionally and financially smarter kids. For the young adults who never got the right blueprint. It's not just about changing your life-it's about realizing you were always powerful enough to do it.My mother used to say, ""A person can only do their best-and that's all that can be asked of them.""But I've learned: doing your best means nothing if you're doing it wrong. So here's the information we were never given. Let's do it right-together.
