Author Information

Victor Lopez has dedicated over 45 years to educating children in New York City, particularly in Community School District 4 (East Harlem). Starting in 1976, he taught Social Studies and Choral Music before becoming the Director of the Harbor School for Performing Arts and later the principal of The Joseph Lanzetta School, P.S. 96. His leadership led to innovative programs and a visit from President Bill Clinton in 2000. After retiring in 2008, he served as a Supervisory Consultant and became a founding member of Educators for Student Success. Currently, he is a lead consultant with Women Excelling in Leadership, training school administrators.
