Author Information

Muhammad B quir as-Sadr, a highly renowned scholar of Islamic jurisprudence and economics, was assassinated in Iraq, under the regime of Saddam Hussein, in 1980. Roy Parviz Mottahedeh is Gurney Professor of History in the Middle East Studies Department at Harvard University, and author of the acclaimed The Mantle of the Prophet.
