Overview

Are Your Marketing Efforts Compromising Your Faith? If you're in business, marketing is an integral part of your success in the 21st century. But many of us feel some discomfort about marketing and don't know how to reconcile it with our faith. It is good to feel cautious because marketing is powerful. Through marketing, selfish capitalists can drive extreme consumer spending to pad their own pockets. Is there a better way? Can you market effectively without violating God's call to truth, humility, and contentment? With more than 25 years of experience in marketing, Roy Herr has wrestled with these questions. The results of these efforts have stirred his passion to foster discussion about relevant biblical principles and inspire healthy dialogue in the Christian business community. Lessons from a Prodigal Marketer will help you: Think about marketing from the standpoint of Jesus' two greatest commandments-love for God and love for neighbor. Analyze your marketing messages using five biblical principles. Shine God's light to your customers with effective marketing. Build your marketing on a biblical foundation, starting today.

Reviews

"""In his first book on marketing, Roy compares himself to the prodigal son coming home. Out of these hard-learned lessons, he calls the readers away from marketing ploys of deception and selfish promotion. Instead, Roy invites the reader to build their marketing around the foundational principles of speaking the truth in love. For those seeking to love God and neighbor through their marketing efforts, this book is a feast for the soul.""-Merle Herr, Anabaptist Financial ""I was impressed with the humble approach Roy has taken. It is well thought out and open-faced."" -Bradley Peters, Aspire ""I have enjoyed reading the book and heartily affirm what I have read. You base your message on these two great commands: love God and love your neighbor. Jesus said, ""There is no other commandment greater than these"" (Mark 12:31) and ""on these two commandments hang all the law and prophets"" (Matthew 22:40). This book then communicates a message with authority. Thank you for addressing this often confusing topic from a Biblical perspective.""-Jonathan Zook, Mountainside Wood Products ""I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, learned a lot and was convicted by many of the points. Thank you for writing such a spiritual resource for all of us marketers!""-Stennett Eberly ""I am humbled after reading the book and look forward to reading it again and sharing it with other people. I feel there is a lot in the book that I need to apply better and want to share it with our employees as well. Roy, thank you for taking the time to write this book!""-Merv Esh, Windy Valley Woodworks, Mfrs. of Finch ""The book lays out well the foundational biblical principles that should guide us in our marketing.""-James Herr, GVS Distributors"
