Lennie's Pennies is an adventurous story that will capture and hold your interest from start to finish. An afternoon walk to the local store and one lost penny starts the first of three days of telling tales and collecting money that he shouldn't have. After figuring out what Lennie is up to this story becomes a way of correcting his wrongs, saying he is sorry, paying back the neighbors and doing chores for punishment. This book involves math, parent skills, telling the truth to right a wrong, forgiveness from adults and a child who forgives himself after admitting he did wrong and doing the right thing to correct it. On his way to growing up, Lennie learns an important lesson. Kelsey Garrett started Lennie's Pennies after talking to a co-worker about pennies and acted on a challenge. Kelsey finished Lennie's pennies by candle light during and after hurricanes Charlie, Francis, Ivan and Jean.
