Overview

It's 2113 in the United States but Christina Applewait does not recognize it as the country she read about in the banned books of the library. It is a nation where the ruling elite select the president by right of succession. Now, her heart is breaking and fear has flooded the craggy fissure. Her dear grandfather, Oliver Richly, the presidential candidate in the newly formed 1787-Constitutionalists Party has been kidnapped. Her friend, Dr. Jason O'Reilly, helps her in the desperate search to find him. Is he alive? If he is, will they find him before the presidential election? It has only been a year since Silas Drummond broke the silence about the atrocities buried beneath Howard Mountain. Judge Carl Brunner issued a two-year stay on all those forced into the never-ending-sleep, thus ending their Length of Days. She and Jason crossed all four closed zone borders to establish a network to place a citizens' referendum, to overturn the Length of Days Law, on the ballot at the presidential election. Now they travel to campaign for the one true candidate of the people, Oliver Richly. The whole country is excited about having their voice heard again after one-hundred years of silence. Will they find Christy's grandfather before it's too late and the authorities remove his name from the election ballot? That may also doom the Length of Days referendum and citizen will continue to die on the government's schedule of death.
