Lemony Clouds

Overview

Meet Rubie, a curious third grader with big ideas and an even bigger imagination. In her quest to invent the ""perfect something,"" she turns ordinary science lessons into a series of wild experiments. But when her attempts fizzle out, she starts to feel frustrated. That's when Rubie learns that success isn't just about getting results-it's about perseverance, creativity, and the courage to keep trying (and maybe reading the directions along the way). Perfect for read-alouds, STEM lessons, and story times. Lemony Clouds inspires young readers to stay curious, embrace mistakes, and find joy in the process of discovery.

Author Information

Dr. Janetha Edwards has over 30 years of experience as both an elementary school teacher and an instructor in teacher preparation programs. She was inspired to begin writing when her oldest daughter entered preschool, with the goal of helping her and other children recognize their gifts, find their voice, and let their light shine. Originally from Oklahoma, Janetha now spends her days surrounded by books and puzzles, dedicating her time to helping educators inspire their students. When she's not writing or reading at the library, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her wonderfully supportive family. Penny Weber is a full time illustrator from Holbrook, New York. She works on photoshop creating illustrations that mimic her background in watercolors and acrylics. She has been lucky enough to illustrate many, many, many children's books. She lives with her husband and two of her three children and as of this writing she is heavily lobbying for a puppy. Linda H. Powers founded Powers Design in 1987 - a creative services agency specializing in graphic and web design, print management / brokering and advertising. Since then she has built this woman-owned business to include regional, national and international clients in a wide range of industries. In that time she's worked with publishing industry greats such as Ingram Spark, Book Baby, KDP Amazon, Pearson Education, Houghton Mifflin and Brown Publishing Network among others. For the last few years Linda has focused on book design and production for authors interested in self-publishing their works along with calendar design and production.
