He served as dean of that same faculty for eight years. In 2013 he was appointed co-dean of the China EU School of Law in Beijing. He has written extensively on constitutional law; his most recent books are Constitutions Compared, Intersentia 2012 (3rd ed. - with co-author Philip Kiiver) and Educating European Lawyers, Intersentia 2011 (with co-editor Bram Akkermans).
