Overview

Legacy--everyone has one to give. What will be your legacy? Jensen explores the motif of legacy through the lens of the apostle Paul and one of his last letters to his spiritual son Timothy. It is an intensive exploration of the universal human endeavor to pass something of worth to a subsequent generation. Jensen weaves a tapestry of exegesis, theological excursus, psychological integration, and contemporary pastoral dilemmas to underscore the need for legacy in its various kinds. Pastors and fathers/mothers are challenged to find their Timothy for the express purpose of faithful transmission of gospel and ministry.

"""Unquestionably, God has graced T. Patrick Jensen with a remarkable depth of psychological insight into human nature and being, but also with an amazing ability to integrate biblical and theological truth with pastoral and practical experience. In reading Legacy, I was informed and, frankly, often deeply moved. I highly recommend Legacy for pastors and church leaders--and to anyone earnestly desiring to receive and bequeath a precious spiritual endowment that outlasts our own generation."" --Tony Richie, associate professor of theology, Pentecostal Theological Seminary ""T. Patrick Jensen writes from his years of service both to the church and to the hurting in society. His vocational calling into ministry, as a pastor and a psychiatrist, provides the raw material for this significant book on legacy. He interlaces theology, biblical exegesis, psychology, and personal pastoral experience into a beautiful tapestry that draws the reader in to discover the substance and obligation of legacy, and even more importantly, how to leave a sound godly legacy."" --Kenneth J. Archer, professor of theology and Pentecostal studies, Barnett College of Ministry & Theology"
