His research interests encompass quantum and conformal field theory, as well as the renormalization group and their applications to critical phenomena. Rychkov has received notable recognition for his contributions to the field. He was awarded the New Horizons in Physics Prize in 2014 and the Grand Prix Mergier-Bourdeix of the French Academy of Sciences in 2019 for his groundbreaking work on the development of the conformal bootstrap method in dimensions greater than two (d>2).
