Overview

"Aristotle said , I am ""an animal, searching for knowledge"". I say, I am ""a human, searching for more time"". More time to do things worth doing (rather than from ""obligation""). More time to do worthwhile things well. This book is for everyone who wants to learn to swim in this deep ocean of information. No aimless doing lengths, no ?oundering for survival, but purposeful swimming. These days, the abundance of information seems to be a necessity for doing a good job, for individuals and de?nitely for organisations. The abundance of information is making professional life di?cult. Despite good organisation, the right work habits and ""doing our best"", we are often left with a feeling of ine?ciency. This feeling rears its ugly head especially when we work with and search for information. The challenge today is not to collect information; the current technological tools have made that fairly easy. The big challenge is JERI - ""Just Enough Relevant Information, when you need it"". Retrieving and delivering only that information which is relevant to the context of the moment, is the aim. The TINK method (Transferring Information aNd Knowledge) o?ers a solution."
