When Donna Reilly's husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she willingly accepted the role of his caregiver, knowing it would be difficult. But she wasn't prepared for the enormity of the job or the disruption of their lives as the disease progressed. She watched the person she loved turn into someone she no longer recognized, and gradually began to fear that Alzheimer's would destroy both of them. This book is her attempt to help caregivers avoid some of the pitfalls that go with the job by suggesting ways to get around them. Author Information

Donna Grant Reilly was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended public schools there, continuing her education at Wellesley College. She and her husband lived and worked in NY City for many years, finally retiring to New England. They live in a continuing care residential community in Hanover, NH. Ms. Reilly has previously written a book about the house that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for her parents, which they built themselves -- An American Proceeding: Building the Grant House with Frank Lloyd Wright.
