As a former elementary, middle and high school mathematics teacher prior to teaching at the university level, Nadine brings a strong understanding of the needs of teachers to her writing. She is one of the founders of the Professional Development Collaborative, which works with teachers in the San Diego area to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics and science ideas and concpets that can be incorporated into their classrooms, and helped to design the Mathematical Specialist Certificate Program at SDSU. Nadine currently serves as the Executive Director of the Association of Mathematic Teacher Educators (AMTE and is a regular speaker at NCTM conferences.
