Overview

In the Name of Allaah. May the Blessings and Peace of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam). This book is a coloured book with graphical text design of Allaah's Noble Names and various coloured background. It is meant to learn by heart authentic Names of Allaah, and also understand their meanings, by Allaah's Permission. The book comes with Arabic text, transliteration, short meaning, references and some scholarly explanations of the Beautiful Names of Allaah mentioned therein. You were also directed to a website link where you can download the audio (mp3s) and the video recitation files that accompany this book's contents in making the memorization of the Noble Names easy, by the Permission of Allaah (the Exalted). Knowledge of Allaah and His Names and Attributes is the noblest and best of all knowledge, because the level of honour of any kind of knowledge has to do with the object of knowledge, and the object of knowledge in this case is Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, through His Names, Attributes and Deeds. Occupying oneself with seeking this knowledge and studying it properly is the pursuit of the highest objective, and acquiring this knowledge is one of the best gifts a person may be given... [Al-Munajjid: 4043] The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) said: Indeed, Allaah has ninety-nine Names - One hundred minus one; whoever encompasses (enumerates, memorizes or acts upon) them (with correct knowledge, beliefs and actions) will enter Paradise. And He (Allaah) is Witr (One and Unique) and loves witr (odd numbers) [Al-Bukhaaree, Muslim and others] However, one big problem is that many Muslims today know only about the widely spread inauthentic list with respect to the Names of Allaah (subhaanahu wata'aalaa). This is due to an inauthentic narration which listed ninety-nine names with respect to the Names of Allaah among which some are correct while others are not Names that Allaah (subhaanahu wata'aalaa) attributed to Himself nor His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) attributed to Him (subhaanahu wata'aalaa). In fact, the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) did not list ninety-nine Names of Allaah in a single narration. The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) only said: .. .whoever encompasses (enumerates, memorizes or acts upon) them (Certain 99 Authentic Names of Allaah from the Qur'aan and Authentic Sunnah - with correct knowledge, beliefs and actions) will enter Paradise... This is what made great and righteous scholars of Al-Islaam from the past and present to research and research the Qur'aan and the authentic Sunnah and then came up with authentic enumeration. This humble effort is meant to increase our interest in knowing, memorizing, ruminating, understanding and acting upon the Beautiful Names as much as possible, by the permission of Almighty Allaah (the Exalted). In trying to academically make learning of the Noble Names by heart easy, In shaaa Allaah, the Names (more than 99 and you will read why in the book) were arranged according to a manner, among others, by which certain Names of Allaah (the Exalted) follow each other or one another in the Noble Qur'aan (first), and (then) authentic Ahaadeeth, and so on; and also arranged in alphabetical order of the Arabic letters (from Qur'aan first, then Hadeeths).
