It's a delight, concise, accessible and compelling. Whilst it tells the story of leaving parish ministry it is also generous in honouring that ministry. It explores the realities of parish life, the place of personality in ministry, and, training, support and 'career structures'. Listening to those who have left it asks and answers: where do we go from here? Hope is placed in amongst other things 'Common Tenure' to help manage role expectations and provide opportunities for review. She clearly lays down a challenge. Author Information

Ronni Lamont was in parish ministry for 16 years, and has worked extensively for the training departments in the dioceses of Rochester and St. Albans. She specialises in creativity and innovation, children's spirituality and pastoral training. Her books include Understanding Children Understanding God (SPCK 2008), and Work Life Balance (Sheldon Press 2001).
