Author Information

Peter Ghavami holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Science from University of Washington and a masters degree in Engineering Management from Portland State University. He is currently the Director of Informatics at a large university hospital in the United States. His research interests include IT Strategy, Project Simulation & Modeling, Lean & Six Sigma Software Development Process, Artificial Life, and Operations Research. Peter has more than 20 years of experience in software and product development including large scale projects and multi-disciplinary development teams. His career began as a software engineer with a supercomputer manufacturer in the 1980's and later as product development manager. Prior to his current position, he held leadership roles as management consultant, VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering and Chief Scientist for several software and information systems companies including IBM Corp, HCorp and RadiSys Corp. He has written numerous articles on software quality, software development process simulation and intelligent networks. He has been a management consultant and professor at several universities, teaching on subjects such as object oriented programming, software engineering, Six Sigma and Information technology management.
