Leah's Lemon Pie

Overview

"Ever since she was a baby, Leah loved the wonderful feelings that came from watching delicious Zambian porridge being stirred by her Grandma Towela, huge blueberry pancakes being flipped to the ceiling by her Uncle Jia and Aunt Winnie in Brooklyn, licking tasty chocolate brownie batter from her Auntie Yvonne's wooden cooking spoon and of course rubbing her belly after she sips her Auntie Cathy's delicious blueberry, banana, strawberry smoothie. When Leah becomes seven she faces her greatest challenge. Her dream of making the perfect lemon pie for her classmates turns into Leah's worst nightmare. Along with a dog named Puppy, a cat named Copy and a very sleepy rooster named Wake Up, Leah learns a very valuable lesson about the importance of creating and cooking with patience, joy and love in your heart.Full of laugh-out-loud moments and colorful characters ""Leah's Lemon Pie"" is sure to warm hearts and satisfy the appetites of kid readers."
