Hi, I'm Linda Lou, and I'm learning how to understand what other people are feeling. Sometimes I notice sadness before anyone says a word - like with my brother Jesse, my friend Cindy, and a classmate who misses her dad. When I paid attention with my heart and acted with kindness, something amazing happens. I help others feel better, and I feel a warm, happy feeling inside me too. Being a leader doesn't mean being the loudest or in charge - it means listening, caring, and helping others feel seen. That's how I learned that empathy is a superpower, and anyone can lead with love. Valerie lives in Wisconsin and holds degrees in Communication Arts and Elementary Education, along with a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership from Viterbo University. In retirement, she's devoted herself to writing and painting, resulting in several published books. Her creative work explores servant leadership through heartfelt stories and illustrations for both children and adults. Above all, Valerie is most proud of raising her remarkable daughter, who continues to inspire her every day.
