OverviewZach is a senior but hes in rehab instead of high school. He doesnt remember how he got there. Remembering sucks and being alive well, whats up with that?I have it in my head that when were born, God writes things down on our hearts. See, on some peoples hearts he writes happy and on some peoples hearts he writes sad and on some peoples hearts he writes crazy and on some peoples hearts he writes genius and on some peoples hearts he writes angry and on some peoples hearts he writes winner and on some peoples hearts he writes loser. Its all like a game to him. Him. God. And its all pretty much random. He takes out his pen and starts writing on our blank hearts. When it came to my turn, he wrote sad. I dont like God very much. Apparently, he doesnt like me very much either. ZachBenjamin Alire Sáenz new novel is a gift of honesty and poetry and heart. Zach is a beautiful young man who desperately wants to forget the unforgettable. In order to deal with his addiction, he must first deal with his lost childhood. Sáenz has created one of the most unique and heartfelt friendships Ive ever encountered in literature, and its through this friendship that Zach ultimately discovers his voice. This novel sang to me from the opening page and never once hit a false note. Matt de la PeñaI cried with Zach all the way through this book: tears of rage and sorrow sometimes laughing though and finally, tears of hope and joy. Thanks to Ben Sáenz pitch-perfect writing, Zach will stay in my heart for a long time.Linda Sue Park Full Product DetailsAuthor: Benjamin Alire Saenz , MacLeod Andrews , MacLeod AndrewsPublisher: Brilliance Corporation Imprint: Brilliance Audio Edition: Unabridged Dimensions: Width: 16.60cm , Height: 1.30cm , Length: 14.00cm Weight: 0.182kg ISBN: 9781455824243ISBN 10: 1455824240 Pages: 6 Publication Date: 20 September 2011 Recommended Age: From 14 to 17 years Audience: General/trade , General Format: Audio Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In Print ![]() This item will be ordered in for you from one of our suppliers.
