Overview

Incluye CD musical. Human beings have always admired and envied birds' flight and song. Maybe that's why music from all kinds of cultures have always tried to imitate or evoke them with their own instruments and voices. This book presents twenty pieces of music, from the 16th to the 20th century, with explanatory texts and a CD featuring excellent musicians. It's a great introduction to music.

All in all, the book, though slight in size, is expansive in its reach. The result is a surprisingly thorough beginner's introduction to classical music. --New York Times, on the English language edition
