Overview

Ervina, a thief and child of a travelling troubadour and a distant mother, has spent most of her adult life on the streets subject to the whims of other ne'er-do-wells. That is until she targets the wrong mark, a noble who goes by the name of Asherton. Once arrested, she experiences the harsh reality of prison life and harassment for being one of the dreaded Velshere. Asheron offers her a choice: pretend to be his estranged fiancée and retrieve a valuable, or rot in prison. As the attraction builds between the pair, Ervina tries to deny her feelings.
