OverviewIn this anthology you will hear about mothers, mundane mornings, and metal detectors. You will also be guided by stories tapping into British, Nepali, Tamil, Kannada, and Urdu cultures and heritages. What makes these poems ‘queer’ is a question that warrants an infinite and expansive exploration. The anthology contains poetry by six queer poets from India and the UK who created new work as part of an international residency, “Language is a Queer Thing” by The Queer Muslim Project and VERVE Poetry in 2023. The residency culminated with a public showcase at BBC Contains Strong Language in Leeds, UK in September 2023. Jay Mitra, Gayathiri Kamalakanthan, Mukahang Limbu, Rachit Sharma, Anureet Watta, and Hafsa Bukhary met across borders, as queer poets from unique intersections and voices, and eventually connected with each other through the power of poetry. This is the follow-up title to the original Language Is A Queer Thing Anthology (VERVE Poetry Press, 2022) Full Product DetailsAuthor: VariousPublisher: Verve Poetry Press Imprint: Verve Poetry Press Weight: 0.150kg ISBN: 9781913917487ISBN 10: 1913917487 Publication Date: 01 February 2024 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In Print ![]() This item will be ordered in for you from one of our suppliers.
