A two week vacation in Ohio provided inspiration for this book of poetry. Adventures and imaginings along the great lake and surrounding landscapes became a travel guide of poems, illustrated with drawings and photographs by the author.

Repeatedly I have warned Allen Frost to stay away from our Ohio-there is only so much land to go around for us Ohio poets. Someone should stop him at the border to see if he's taking back these wonder thoughts, only they, like his lake submarine, can't be found. Metal detectors can't catch them because they are but seeds waiting to bloom on his West Coast farm. Heritage poems they are. Allen's writing always dips into the pen of magic, and this book is no exception as he builds visions out of the minutia of our daily life in Ohio or anywhere.
