As a woman who loves all kinds of pretty, I, of course love making flowers out of origami and own quite a few books on this topic. This Origami Flowers kit seemed different from any others that I already own so I got quite excited [...] There are some simple models but also more challenging, intermediate to lower end of advanced models, included in the book as well so it can attract large populations of origami enthusiasts. I very much enjoyed LaFosse & Alexander's Origami Flowers kit so far and look forward to fold more from it. -- Yuki's Origami Blog This kit has paper, a dvd and a book full of traditional style flowers. The paper is a standard kami paper, brightly colored on one side, smooth, thin, and easy to fold. The book diagrams are in standard origami notation, but have instructions in English under each step to clarify the steps. The dvd is very well done, with the focus on the folding and brightly lit. [...] Just delightful. Each step was explained, and using it in conjunction with the book, it all made sense. It was like having a private class in how to fold that rose. I tried a few other models using the book and dvd together and it helped out considerably for fitting in the last piece of a modular flower. The lily model, as shown on the DVD actually showed me a faster way to fold it than I've been doing for the last several years. If you're more than a casual folder- this kit may be too basic for you but I'd strongly recommend it to beginning folders. The video instructions are well explained, and in conjunction with the book will teach you how to do origami. The models are well chosen too. The flowers can be use as ornaments or gifts. -- Don't Eat The Paste This little kit packs a lot of content for origami flowers lovers. It contains a booklet, 180 sheets of flowery colored standard origami paper in two packs, 6 and 3 inch squares, and a DVD. There are 20 attractive designs here, ranging from simple, modular flowers to the more advanced tulip and rose. Flowers are accompanied by instructions for matching leaves, and the book provides ideas for what papers to use, tips for proper folding techniques, and ideas for using the finished designs. The booklet is very well produced with many photos throughout. The DVD that comes with the kit contains full video instructions for each and every single project in the book. It's hard to beat Michael LaFosse's teaching videos--they are very well executed, with over-the-shoulder views and good lighting, and he takes care in explaining every move in detail, while giving many tips and tricks, discussing the background of the designs and more. A great kit for both newcomers to origami or for anyone who'd like to fold some nice flower designs! -- Gilad's Origami Page There are some simple models but also more challenging, intermediate to lower end of advanced models, included in the book as well so it can attract large populations of origami enthusiasts.
