INSIDE BONUS Born in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1987, Lael Wilcox is a remarkable long-distance rider. Lael's bond with the natural world and adventure was influenced from an early age by her upbringing in the harsh, outdoor-focused environment of Alaska. Growing up, she and her boys hiked, camped, and rode bikes a lot since her family encouraged outdoor pursuits. She didn't begin riding, however, until she was in her early 20s. Lael was an adventurous traveler before she developed a passion for riding. After graduating from high school, she took on the road, doing seasonal jobs that enabled her to experience various parts of the world.
