Norman Shapiro, a professor at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, has won numerous honors, including the MLA Scaglione Prize for translation, the ALTA ""Distinguished Book of the Year"" Award, the Galantiere, and the National Book Award nomination, for his many distinguished translations. Shapiro is a widely published translator of French poetry, theater, and fiction, and is a member of the Academy of American Poets.
